Each year, on 1 December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. People around the world unite to show support for people living with HIV and to remember those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses.  Let us stand together and encourage one another to end the stigma against people with HIV.  HIV does not spread through the air like cold and flu viruses. HIV is transmitted through specific activities such as through sexual intercourse or injection drug use. Spread the message, not the virus. Let's do our part to stop the HIV stigma.

Today is World AIDS Day. Have you ever taken a HIV test? If YES - Well done! Just remember to do it regularly! If NO - What are you waiting for? The best time to take a test in NOW. Early HIV diagnosis and testing are important to:  start treatment and care if needed  reduce infections  reduce AIDS related deaths

Sempena Hari AIDS Sedunia, Malaysia telah mencapai banyak kejayaan dalam usaha membendung jangkitan HIV/AIDS melalui aktiviti pencegahan, rawatan dan kawalan yang berkesan.  Bilangan kes HIV telah menurun lebih 50% pada 2019 daripada 6,978 kes pada 2002 manakala kadar jangkitan vertikal HIV dari ibu ke anak berjaya dikekalkan di bawah 2%. Peratusan jangkitan HIV baru melalui suntikan juga telah menurun dari 74.2% (5,176 kes) pada 2002 kepada 4.6% (164 kes) pada 2019. Dalam mencapai sasaran UNAIDS 90-90-90, Malaysia berjaya mempertingkatkan peratusan pemberian ubat anti-retroviral (ARV) kepada mereka yang hidup dengan HIV (PLHIV) dari 28% pada 2015 kepada 57% pada 2019. Walaupun dunia kini sedang berhadapan dengan pandemik COVID-19, Malaysia akan terus mengembleng tenaga dalam menangani isu HIV/AIDS ini demi mengakhiri pandemik ini selamanya.
